CONWY VALLEY, DINORWIG, LANBERIS from 1998

The accessability fo the North Wales hinterland from Chester allows frequent working visits and holidays. The visibility of the quarrying enterprise through the gaping holes and the slate screes is a natural draw. The scarring here is in contrast to the mining valleys of South Wales which has largely been rehabilitated with the land surface showing little obvious signs of previous industrial distress.
